OKIO Home Compostable Cling Film 600m brings certified home compostability to everyday food wrapping. This 450mm-wide roll helps you cover prepared food, bowls and catering trays. It combines practical cling with ViKang technology made using an extract from upcycled cashew shells. Available in the UK exclusively through Purple Planet Packaging.

Using your OKIO home compostable cling film 600m roll
Choose the 600m roll for busy kitchens that use cling film throughout the day. Its longer length means fewer roll changes. The 45cm width suits covering food preparation bowls and trays, as well as wrapping sandwiches and ingredients.
Use it in catering kitchens, restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs. It also suits university dining, workplace kitchens and event catering. Pull out the length you need and cover the food securely. Certified home compostable and tested for PFAS
The film holds TÜV Austria OK compost HOME certification, number TA8022509424. This covers home compostability of the certified ViKang clingwrap film. The certificate is valid until 30 September 2030.
PFAS-free, supported by independent testing: no PFAS were detected in the tested ViKang film within the methods’ detection limits. The April 2026 SGS report also records no detected total fluorine. You can download the full report below for the test scope and limits.
What is OKIO made from?
OKIO is a brand from N&E Innovations in Singapore. The film combines PBAT, a compostable plastic, with ViKang plant extract from upcycled cashew shells. It is PVC-free. Read more about the material on the official OKIO website.
Freshness and food-contact testing
In a three-day chilled study at 2–4°C, food wrapped in OKIO showed lower total viable counts than the commercial film comparator on days two and three. These results apply to the samples and conditions tested. Keep following normal food safety and use-by guidance.
The supplied food-contact report records passes for the requested migration and sensory tests. Separate reports cover 251 REACH substances of very high concern and NIAS screening. See the documents below for the tested conditions and findings.
Roll price and cost per metre
One roll costs £25.60 excluding VAT, equal to approximately 4.27p per metre excluding VAT. The metre price is rounded. For a smaller upfront order, choose the 300m OKIO cling film roll. Both sizes are 450mm wide and are sold separately.
Storage and disposal
Store the unused roll in a clean, dry place. Home composting performance depends on the conditions in your compost system. If you use a commercial waste service, check that it accepts this film. Keep it out of conventional plastic recycling. The clean outer cardboard box can go into card recycling where accepted.
